Bible Bursts has begun with this Book of James NIV Bible Study and Commentary. And we kick off this series in the Book of James, Chapter 1.
Over the last four or five months, I've been studying the Book of James. For the first time ever, I've actually taken the time to dive into an entire book of the bible - word for word and verse by verse. I wanted to better understand God's word, by bolstering my understanding of the context and circumstances surrounding everything in James. I did all of this in an effort to better understand how to live the gospel in everyday life.
The first chapter in the Book of James offers an incredible amount of practical insights into how we can live the gospel in everyday life. The two sections that really stood out to me were 1:2-4 and 1:22-23. These verses exhort us to approach our suffering with joy and perseverance and do what the Word says, respectively. Furthermore, these sections being to lay the foundation for one of the fundamental messages of the book: the importance of faith and works. I give a lot of credit to Douglas Moo and his own Book of James Study and commentary.
I'm super excited for this series to now be underway, and I pray that anyone who takes the time to watch/listen to any of these segments comes out of it with an awe-inspiring appreciation for God's majesty.
